Above all this place is run by a real music fan and support of the local scene and they put on regular live music and are always looking for new acts!! We will have a full PA system and....... full back line; Drums, bass amp and guitar amps. Feel free to bring your own obviously but nice to know it’s all there if you fancy traveling light. Derek Nash is one of Britain's most accomplished saxophonists and has some tremendous accolades to back this claim - including Best Jazz CD (2002 & 2012), British Jazz Award (2000) & John Dankworth Award (1998). More impressively, for over forty years, he has led Sax Appeal and has also been a key member of Jools Holland Rhythm and Blues Orchestra since 2004. He is a member of the Ronnie Scotts Blues Explosion, and has performed regularly at this iconic venue for over 20 years.

Kate Hall is a singer-songwriter from Plymouth playing both original music and tasteful covers through the ages. Raised on a plethora of musical genres, Kate's melodies are uniquely soulful. In 2024, Rue released two new singles, each accompanied by striking cinematic music videos—her debut on screen. Both tracks garnered exceptional support from BBC Introducing and were featured on Official Spotify Playlists, including ‘Jazz UK’ and ‘Fresh Finds.’ Her latest release ‘On The Fence’ was featured on the Round Midnight BBC 3 show with Soweto Kinch.

Drawing inspiration from both classic and contemporary artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Maddison Cunningham, Kimbra, and Jamiroquai, Rue has made a name for herself through her headline shows at esteemed venues like the Cheltenham Festival Jazz Arena, Pizza Express Jazz Club in London, and Patchwork Studios. She has also graced the stages of major festivals including Boardmasters, Leopallooza, and The Great Escape, establishing herself as one of the must-see live acts in the south-west, whether performing solo or with her band.

In 2022, Rue opened for the afro-jazz ensemble Nubiyan Twist and has supported a variety of prominent artists, including Yakul, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, Keane, Newton Faulkner, and James Arthur. The Wireless are in their 21st year and have a massive repertoire covering the 60s to the present day. They take classic songs and put them through the Wireless-o-fier to give them a unique flavour. Vocal duties are distributed throughout the band and with wah-wah driven acoustic guitar, psychedelic bass vibes and a hybrid drum/percussion set-up, you could be forgiven for thinking there is a 6-piece band on stage. From playing the Minstrel’s Gallery at Salisbury Cathedral to sweaty residencies in the south of France, The Wireless are adept at working crowds of all shapes and sizes.

In 2024, Rue released two new singles, each accompanied by striking cinematic music videos—her debut on screen. Both tracks garnered exceptional support from BBC Introducing and were featured on Official Spotify Playlists, including ‘Jazz UK’ and ‘Fresh Finds.’ Her latest release ‘On The Fence’ was featured on the Round Midnight BBC 3 show with Soweto Kinch.

Drawing inspiration from both classic and contemporary artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Maddison Cunningham, Kimbra, and Jamiroquai, Rue has made a name for herself through her headline shows at esteemed venues like the Cheltenham Festival Jazz Arena, Pizza Express Jazz Club in London, and Patchwork Studios. Martin Dale is one of Plymouth’s top jazz players. Leading his band on saxophone, he truly knows how to keep the vibe going. Martin has been a top saxophonist in Plymouth since 1982 and still today is going strong!

Vince Lee - vocals/guitar/stomp || Sophie Lord - electric bass/double bass.

Vintage blues and roots duo based in Plymouth UK. Vince has been playing and singing the blues in all its forms since the mid 80s and has influenced many likeminded musicians with his wide repertoire and virtuoso guitar playing. Sophie Lord was one of those people. Returning to her hometown Plymouth after 10 years working as a bass player in London, Sophie joined forces with Vince in early 2022. Whist switching from electric bass to double bass in the process. Together they have gained a huge following on social media platforms by sharing their homemade music videos which have reached millions of people around the world. Their stripped back style touches on jump blues, calypso, swing & ragtime. Vince & Sophie have played in the United States performing at the world famous Topanga Blues Festival in California and Gator By The Bay Festival in San Diego. They will definitely be returning soon after establishing themselves on the Southern California music scene.
